Apparently tonight on The Oreilly Factor and/or on Hannity and Colmes on Foxnews, an audio tape will be played of Jesse Jackson speaking when he thought his mike was off and bad things about Barack Obama.
The one quote I’ve found so far is Jesse Jackson saying about Obama ”I want to cut his nuts off.” Because he’s “talking down to black people.”
Jesse Jackson issued this statement before the tape has even been played:
“For any harm or hurt that this hot mic private conversation may have caused, I apologize. My support for Senator Obama’s campaign is wide, deep and unequivocal. I cherish this redemptive and historical moment.
My appeal was for the moral content of his message to not only deal with the personal and moral responsibility of black males, but to deal with the collective moral responsibility of government and the public policy which would be a corrective action for the lack of good choices that often led to their irresponsibility.
That was the context of my private conversation and it does not reflect any disparagement on my part for the historic event in which we are involved or my pride in Senator Barack Obama, who is leading it, whom I have supported by crisscrossing this nation in every level of media and audience from the beginning in absolute terms.”
Jackson also said this about the comments:
“This is a sound bite in a broader conversation about urban policy and racial disparities. I feel very distressed because I’m supportive of this campaign and with the senator, what he has done and is doing…I said he comes down as speaking down to black people. The moral message must be a much broader message. What we need really is racial justice and urban policy and jobs and health care. That’s a range of issues on the menu…Then I said something I regret was crude. It was very private. And very much a sound bite.”
My opinion: Obama is pandering to White people by pretending to do the Bill Cosby speeches on Black Culture knowing all along that whether Black people agree or not they will still vote for him. He’s taking the whole race for granted in the election. Jesse Jackson only said privately what he himself doesn’t have the nuts to say publicly. I’ve called Barack Obama Uncle Otama in a previous post. The original Uncle Tom would say whatever the white people wanted to hear in order to gain their confidence. Barack “Uncle Otama” Obama is a 21st century updated version. At least Jesse Jackson is intelligent enough to notice it himself.
Bill Cosby has been ostracized by a lot of black people for saying things that they don’t want to hear. Barack Obama will get a pass because everyone knows he’s talking out of both sides of his mouth at the same time. Even his own pastor, The Irreverent Wright said that Obama is saying what he has to say now to get elected.
It’s a sad day when there is no strong opposition to counteract the vomituous noise. The mainstream media will continue to sweep all of this under the rug. Iraq is improving and is in fact very good now, sweep it under the rug. Gas and oil prices are high because extremist liberals have blocked new drilling and refineries for decades, sweep it under the rug. Tax cuts on the job creators creates jobs, sweep it under the rug.
The comment was aimed at Obama not speaking to issues important to the black community. Well, I believe the focus of the campaign should be aimed more at mainstream issues than minority issues. Yes, urban policy and minority issues shouldn’t be ignored but it should not be the crux of the campaign. What I see here is, “Are we ready for a black president or a woman president?” Don’t get me wrong, I think in ideal it would be great but there is so much broken right now that needs to be fixed…will a black or woman president and the issues associated with race and gender get in the way of tackling the important issues, which is what we see here…..
& I do think race and gender are important issues too but should they be overshadowing other issues right now? I think not….
